by Jeff King

Chester-le-Street United are pleased to announce the arrival of 17-year-old Centre Back Harvey Rudd to their First Team Squad. (Pictured with First Team Manager John Gamble and Assistant Manager Micky Nelson).

Rudd who will also be available for selection for Park View Academy is the first player that United have signed from a fellow Ebac Northern League club. He comes after impressing against United for his previous side Esh Winning.

The youngster is also registered for Consett AFC who play in The Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One East. United though are expecting to be able to utilise Rudd as his first-choice option.

Speaking about the Club's first existing Northern League player signing United Chairman and Director of Sport at Park View Academy had this to say.

"We are delighted to get Harvey over the line. He fits our model of full time training. Having moved up from Kent last year to live in the North East with his family he is keen to pursue his football."

" We spoke about our full time model and this was something that appealed to him as he wants to play at the highest level in years to come. I am sure he will be a big asset for us."

"I would like to thank Esh Winning on being so accommodating throughout the transfer process."

Rudd's transfer within the Northern League has been approved and confirmed by Registrations Secretary Dave Robinson enabling Harvey to be considered for selection for tomorrow's game against Billingham Town at The Riverside.

Kick-off for that game is at 15:00pm and Rudd has been named in the squad for the game.
