Chester-le-Street United's Management Team have cast their net far and wide in an attempt to land a catch to bolster their attacking options. They've actually landed a player very close to home.
Making the switch from fellow Ebac Northern League Division 2 side Sunderland West End is 17-year-old wide forward Ben Lawton who is actually a Park View Academy student.
Lawton plays midweek in the Park View Academy set-up and has also been part of the successful FA Youth Challenge Cup run where he bagged two excellently taken goals in the last round to help United win 4 - 2 at Spennymoor.
Lawton who has also netted four goals for West End this season, three of which have come in league play is expected to come straight into the first-team squad for this weekend's trip to take on Billingham Synthonia at Stokesley Sports Ground.
On capturing Lawton's signature Head Coach John Gamble had this to say. " Really pleased to have Ben join us on a Saturday, he has been part of our Academy and part of our youth cup squad, he will give us good options up front".
