This Tuesday night, 7th December, United face Northern League Second Division outfit Easington Colliery in the Durham FA Challenge Cup. The game takes place at The Ford Hub, Sunderland with a 7:30pm kick-off.
Easington are having a fine season so far and lie second in the table with 15 wins, 1 draw and five defeats. They have scored 51 goals in those 21 games and conceded 25.
Their last completed game saw them lose for the first time in eleven games after they went down 2 - 1 at Birtley Town. Last Saturday saw their game halted and abandoned after only 18 minutes as Colliery's Luke Page suffered a really bad broken leg.
The game had to be stopped to await an ambulance for Page but unfortunately there was a lengthy delay and both sides and the referee agreed that the best course of action would be to abandon proceedings.
Players to watch out for are top scorer Liam Adamson who has fifteen goals this season, Captain Jack Pounder who has ten goals, Kyle Middleton who has seven and Dylan Elliott who has four.
This will be a tough test for United but a great challenge to see how much progress the side have made thus far this campaign.
