United Travel To Railway Looking To Stay On Track

by Jeff King

The Lads are on the road again tonight looking for a fourth consecutive league win. Their recent excellent run has taken them to the top of The Wearside League. A win tonight would consolidate that position.

It wouldn't be easy against a Darlington RA side that came to The Riverside back on the 21st August and left with a point after a tough 0 - 0 encounter. At that time RA were unbeaten in their first five league games and near the summit of the division.

Since then a run of only one win in their last eleven league games has seen a change of management. Experienced Alan White will take charge tonight of his first game as the new Head Coach.

As a player he turned out for Luton Town, Colchester United and Darlington and has experience of being on the management/coaching staff at Spennymoor and Darlington.

The RA are hoping that his fresh ideas and appointment will give their side a timely boost and help them get back to winning ways. Their league position currently is currently 14th with 4 wins 4 draws and 8 defeats. They've scored 23 and conceded 30.

Top scorers are striker Connor Woodford who 7 goals this season and young midfielder William Hewison who has 6.

Kick-Off for tonight's game is 7:30pm at Brinkburn Road.
